North of Boston

My latest book, North of Boston, is available.  A work a year in the making, it is a compilation of short stories inspired by Facebook status updates.  It started as a daily blog, a writing exercise only for me and turned into something more.  Part fantasy, part memory, each story seeks to tell a story, usually in less then a page of a person, a moment or a place.

Busy busy and lots of plans...

As 2014 comes to a close there are once again to many irons in the fire.  I am working on finalizing my second novel...The Inheritance (due out sometime second quarter of 2015), teaching, doing marketing and thinking about starting a lifestyle brand.

I am behind on my 365 project but have this vision that I will get caught up by the end of the year...and if I do then what to do with next year?

Check out the tirade I wrote after discovering what snowflakes are made of over on my personal blog, and wish me luck in getting caught up on my short stories!

Am Writing...kind of...

One of the biggest challenges for me has been the writing of a second book.  With limited time and maybe too many ideas I have been struggling with which worm hole to dive into.

Here are the three stories I am working on...if anyone wants to chime in with thoughts they would be welcome!

1. Blue Pumpkin - a crime mystery/drama set in Boston during the Red Sox playoff run in 2004
2. I Can Say "I Love You" Wrong - an anti love story following a women from adolescents through old age
3. Title TBD - a drama that deconstructs one extended family following the death of the patriarch

The Day the Rain Came

My first novel The Day the Rain Came is now available in print and as an ebook.

Set in the early 90's it follows Ashlyn, a 15 year old girl, through one of the most trying summers of her young life.  As she weeds through the cast of characters in her life she must decide who will stay and who will go.  She must decide if she is go
ing to stay a victim or become something else.  She must decide if she can live with what has happened to her.
